Quick 35 Week Update

Hard to believe that we're so close!! We had our 35 week appointment yesterday. The little one is still breech and according to the ultrasound he is measuring 36 weeks 3 days. They think that he weighs around 6 lbs 9 oz. The doctor says that it is too late for him to try to turn him and doesn't think that there is room for him to turn on his own but it's not impossible. We'll have another ultrasound at 37 weeks and if he is still breech then they'll look at scheduling a C-Section. Looks like he could be here very soon!!

Our very dear friend Patty hosted a baby shower for us this past weekend. She did an amazing job decorating and organizing the shower. We received lots of wonderful gifts to get us prepared for Declan's arrival. We are very thankful to all of our great friends and can't wait for them to meet the little one. The shower was lots of fun and it was great to see everyone! A huge thank you to Patty for a fantastic shower...you're the best!

So as you can tell from the title our little one finally has a name. His full name is Declan Michael. We finished hanging pictures in the nursery this weekend and finally finished washing all of the baby clothing, blankets and bedding. Only 48 more days until our due date!!

32 Week Update

32 Week Baby Bump

We had our 32 week appointment this week. The little one is still measuring two weeks ahead. If the trend continues then we'll likely have another ultrasound around 36 or 37 weeks to see exactly how big he is. The doctor says that he could be two weeks ahead or the measurement could be off because I am so petite. The current guess is that he weighs about 4.5 pounds, which makes me happy since that means that all of my weight gain is baby related and still staying right in my stomach! His heartbeat is great and he is finally head down....up until now he was laying side ways. Hard to believe that he'll be here in less than two months!

On January 16th my mother, sister, Debbie and Pam hosted a baby shower for us. It was great to catch up with friends and family that I haven't seen in some time. We got lots of great gifts to help get us prepared for the little one. We are so thankful to all of our wonderful friends and family for their support! And a big "thank you" to the hostesses for their hard work in pulling everything together! We can't wait for everyone to meet the little one....not too much longer now.

Baby Steckel 4D Ultrasound

28 Week Baby Bump

We finally made it to the third trimester!!! We had our 28 week appointment and 4D ultrasound on Monday. It is absolutely amazing what you can see on the 4D ultrasounds. The baby (still not named) was curled up with his knees to his forehead so it took a while to get a good shot of his face. He moved around quite a bit for us and even stuck out his tongue at one point. He is still measuring about two weeks ahead in growth but the doctor says that everything looks great and that all of our numbers are perfect. Here's a picture from the ultrasound and one of the 28 week baby bump. I'll post a few more pictures of the ultrasound as soon as I make it through all of them. 

We Moved!!

It's been a few weeks since the last post but we've been very busy! We bought a new house and moved in a couple of weeks ago, we had our 24 week appointment and I finished my Export Compliance classes. We're pretty much settled into our new home and Davout is now enjoying his new backyard. We have all of the furniture set up in the baby's room so now we just have to finish decorating. The baby is still about two weeks ahead in growth and he is kicking and punching on a regular basis now. I finally finished all of my classes and took my exam to become a Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer this past Monday. We'll take a picture of the growing baby bump this weekend but for now here's a picture of our new home.
